The Best Tips for a Successful Back to School Days Routine

For many parents, the back to school season can be a bit chaotic. There are new routines to establish, supplies to buy and homework to help with. But with a little bit of organization and preparation, you can make the transition back to school a smooth one for everyone.

In this article, we will share some tips for creating a successful back to school days routine. Follow these tips and your kids will be off to a great start this school year.

One of the most important things you can do to help your child have a successful school year is to establish a daily routine. A set routine will help your child know what to expect each day and make it easier for them to get into the school mindset.

Review Your Child's Daily Schedule

To start, sit down with your child and go over their daily schedule. You can use a printable planner or just write it out on a piece of paper. Include time for waking up, getting dressed, eating breakfast, brushing teeth, packing up their backpack and any other morning activities. Then map out their after-school schedule including homework time, dinner and free play.

Once you have created the schedule, post it somewhere visible in your home so everyone can reference it. You can also put a copy in your child’s backpack so they can refer to it if they need to.

Get Organized the Night Before

Another important tip for having a successful back to school routine is to get organized the night before. This will help reduce morning stress and ensure that your child has everything they need for the next day.

Help your child pick out their clothes for the next day and lay them out on a chair or bed. This way they can just grab them and go in the morning. You can also pack up their backpack with all of the necessary supplies so it’s ready to go in the morning. And lastly, review your child’s homework assignments and make sure they understand what is due the next day.

By taking care of these things the night before, you can make sure your child is prepared and ready to start their day with a positive attitude.

Create a Morning Routine Checklist

Another helpful tip for mornings is to create a routine checklist that your child can follow. This will help them know exactly what needs to be done each morning so they don’t forget anything important.

You can either write out the steps of their morning routine or find a printable checklist online. Hang it up in their bedroom or bathroom so they can reference it each morning. As they complete each task, they can check it off the list. This will help them feel accomplished and motivated to keep going.

Prepare Dinners Ahead with Meal Planning

Meal planning is a great way to save time and money. And it’s also a helpful tool for busy families who want to make sure they are eating healthy meals.

Take some time each week to plan out your dinners for the upcoming days. Then do some prep work like chopping vegetables or cooking meat so it’s ready to go when you need it. This will make it much easier to throw together a healthy dinner after a long day of school and extracurricular activities.

These are just a few tips that can help you create a successful back-to-school routine for your family. With a little bit of planning and preparation, you can make the transition back to school smooth and stress-free. What tips do you have for making the back-to-school season successful?
